QUESTION

can I sue for my pet surgery fee from my exroomate?

Asked on Dec 19th, 2013 on Contracts - California
More details to this question:
My exroommate broke my dogs leg 6 month ago, i spent 5000 total to save her leg.  At that time i said that they do not need to pay for this I will pay, they just need to borrow me 1400 for next 2 months rent.  They borrowed and I paid back.  But now, we are having conflicts.  I want my 5000 back.  Is that possible to sue for and get the 5000 back?

Is it possible?  Yes.  But if  you tell the truth and admit that you agreed that your roommate did not have to pay for  the dog's care if she loaned you $1,400 (with no interest, I assume), and she did, you should not win.
