QUESTION

Can I sue to recover expenses from plumbing error?

Asked on May 26th, 2017 on Breach of Contract - Florida
More details to this question:
Plumber jet cleaned my drains to unclog. This action cause a major leak in my drain which required my cabinets and floor to be ripped out. My insurance maximum was $10,000 with a $2,500 deductible. The total from the contractor to repair the leak and replace the kitchen, all expenses, came to $15,484.42. Minus insurance of $7,500.00. So our out of pocket expenses were $7,984.42. Both the contractor and plumber are willing to state the problem was due to the work done by the plumber. We paid him almost $900.00 to clear the drain, which was not done. What is our next step to try to get the plumber to reimburse us for costs due to their improper work?

If, as you ay, the accept full liability and fault, present the bill to them and ask them how they intend to pay. If your view that they accept full liability is erroneous, then you will likely have to hire a lawyer to sue them and go from there.
