QUESTION
Can I take an internet scam to small claims court?

More details to this question:
I was wrapped up in an internet scam in which the person and I struck up a deal to ship each other merchandise as a trade. We had talked several times on the phone and I have numerous texts and emails about what we would be trading, how to ship the items and when to ship them. The person seemed trustworthy, and although I knew it was a risk I agreed and shipped my merchandise. This was totally personal, two people that met online. I sent about $300 worth of merchandise and as you probably expected he sent an empty bubble mailer. He strategically did everything so that I would not know if I was being scammed. I have many pieces of information that show what we both agreed to send each other including texts and emails. Is this worth small claims court? I know it is a small amount, but it would be worth it to me to get the merchandise back if possible. Thanks so much.

yes you can sue the other person for the return of the $300 if you know his name and address of where to send the court summons. Good luck!
