QUESTION

Date of forfeit is December 13

More details to this question:
I had a diamond necklace that I pawned and was paying on it regularly to keep it from being forfeited. The loan was for only 600.00 but the value was over 15000.00. I reached the 600 mark just by paying the interest. Every time I went in to make a payment I made it crystal clear I didn't want to lose it. A week and a half before the 13th i went to pay and the employee gave me the forfeit date and I went on my way. I came back three days before the thirteenth and was told the Diamond was gone and I had lost it. After pleading my case the owner said it could have been a glitch in the computer or human error and did not even try to help me in any way. They do have security cams. Can I ask for a copy of that footage of the employee giving me the wrong date to write down? I wrote the date on the receipt that the employee printed out for my payment. Thank you very much for your help Also my number is 407 760 7121 or by email

Not sure how secuirty video would help. The REAL forfeit date was whatever it was. If you showed up to pay AFTER real date but before wrong date, you might have a very weak case. If they sold the items early regardless or they were stolen or lost while in pawn, you might have much better case, but will have to prove proper value. If you are looking to hire a lawyer you can call our office at 813-877-6442 to arrange for a FREE in office consultation.
