Do I need an attorney to file the answer for a summons

More details to this question:
I have been sued by my employer for breach of contract. I got a court summons that I have to file an Answer for. Do you need an attorney or can I do it by my own?

You can represent yourself (not enyone else, including any corporations or other entities you own) but tthat may not be the best idea.
