I agreed to a free lease of my horse. I had emergency eye surgery and was unable to read the contract because I was severely visually impaired therefore the stable owner acted on behalf. She verbally informed me of the terms of the lease. The period of the free lease was one year with the right to inspect the horse every three months to which I agreed. Six weeks later I was able to pick up the hard copy of the lease. The terms stated was for the remainder of the horse’s life. I texted her regarding the terms and she responded that it was a one year lease with the option to extend. That is not what is on the contract. What should my next steps be to protect my ownership of my horse? There is also a question about my tack and equipment.
