More details to this question:
My noncompete on the first page starts off: Agreement made this day of 10/8/12 between “my name” and “company name” under the laws of state of Minnesota. Then on the back page it states “in witness whereof, company and employee have excecuted this agreement at “town name” on the day and year first above written. We both signed 10/3/12. My question is the date on the front page does not match the date we signed so the contract even valid? And my last name is typed on the first page with my maiden last name and I signed with my married name. I was married before I applied to the company.

Non-compete agreements between employer and employee are viewed with some disfavor and are not always enforced, bu tI don't think either of these irregularities makes any difference. There is no actual dispute over the date (nor, unless the non-compete ran from that date, as opposed to the date when your employment terminated, would any dispute be material) nor that you signed the agreement.
