QUESTION

Fear of breach of contract

Asked on May 06th, 2014 on Contracts - Florida
More details to this question:
My fiancé and I signed an apt. lease in March and now want to add a dog to the family. In the lease and pet agreement, neither specify size or breed. Now new owners have come in verbally stating only 30lbs or less pets I.e. Cats or dogs but they have not put it in writing in a new lease. If we get a medium dog could they sue us or kick us out?

Its possible, if nothing else they may try and it could you thousands of dollars going to court to quibble over it. Either get an agreement in writing with LL, get a smaller dog, or simply wait until lease expires to get the dog.
