QUESTION

Help! Do I have a case?

Asked on Aug 30th, 2018 on Breach of Contract - New York
More details to this question:
Last year, I signed a car lease for my now ex boyfriend. He agreed in writing to be financially responsible for the car. That soon proved to be untrue. In no time, the car has been over 3 months past due (with active repossession but repossession never happened), my license was suspended due to the car being uninsured, hundreds in unpaid tickets and tolls, and so on. He consistently promises to catch up on payments and pay the debts, and it never happens. I have my own car that is paid on time monthly. I am curious if I have a case, despite the contract signed by us at the dealership.

You can sue the boyfriend, but as to the leasing company, you are on the hook.
