How can a lawyer deny my garnishment paper I returned?

More details to this question:
I was sued by this company 5 yrs. ago, they won a lien against me, now they send me a garnishment of wages I returned it with proof of my disability they say they are denying my claim and hearing? Can they do this? Now asking for my income tax returns,and bank statements do I comply their is no seal from court etc.

This is a controversial issue right now. There are some recent cases in whcih courts have sanctioned lawyers for demanding hearings with no evidence to controvert your affidavit andfor using the hearing process as a form of discovery.
