I am a model and recently did a photoshoot where I signed a standard model release after the shoot ended. The photographer posted some of the pictures on his webpage and I am wondering if there is any way I can make him take them down. I am no longer modeling and some of the pictures are a bit revealing (though not explicit) and do not want them to show up when searching my name online as I am now looking for work in the corporate world. Is there anything that can be done? It was a release he wrote himself and I signed after the shoot. Are these things retroactive? I'm desperate to find any sort of technicality that might help me out of this dilemma.
These releases are fairly standard and likely solid, but use of your name is probably not convered. This may be the technicality. The image can be used but not the name. Also, if you have the money, you can sue and the photographer may not want the hassle and will just stop using the pictures.
