QUESTION

How can I report being scammed by a lawyer?

Asked on Apr 15th, 2013 on Breach of Contract - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I hired John Smee and his company Dual Citizenship Services, Ltd. to help me get my Irish Passport. I paid him around $1000. He was thorough and knowledgeable in the beginning, but has since disappeared. It's been months at this point. I've written him emails and my father, who is also a lawyer is also involved, but I don't know how to proceed.

I did some brief research and it seems that the company "Dual Citizenship Services" is registered in both Florida and Illinois.  you could try consumer fraud departments in each of those states, and in New Jersey.  http://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/contactinfo.htm is a link to the complaint form for New Jersey.  You might also want to try the Office of Attorney Ethics http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/oae/
