How do I petition for my HOA to disband or dissolve?

This may prove difficult or impossible to do, since the HOA benefits a large number of properties (even though some may be vacant or for sale). You need to review the land records that apply to your home and review the HOA agreement, to which you (and the other owners) agreed. These documents will describe the process -- if indeed any is available -- for dissolution of the association. My guess is that, at the end of the day, it will not be possible.
