QUESTION

How do I pursue a moving company for charging extra sq footage?

More details to this question:
Good morning I was wondering if your firm only takes on personal injury cases. I have a suit I will need to file against a local moving company, BayFlower Moving Group, not due to damaged items but due to breach of contract. I was overcharged for more than 400 sq footage of truck space used to transport my furniture and possessions. I have photo proof of this. What they did was bill be for the amount of space they used on a shuttle truck because the main truck had broken down. The actual moving truck that arrived showed my items taking up 400-500 sq feet less space. Also, I paid 10,000.00 for a full service move which was to include reassembly of furniture and moving all of my boxes into the appropriate rooms. Neither of these happened. I have multiple others that have been scammed by BayFlower as well and would like to pursue legally.

This is not a personal injury case but rather contract/statutory tort case under Fla. Stat. 501 or the CARMACK amendment. From a civil perspective, the cases are typically handled on an hourly rate/retainer with reimbursement sought if successful. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office at 813-877-6442 for a FREE consultation.
