QUESTION

How to get out of a written agreement?

Asked on Nov 02nd, 2019 on Contracts - Florida
More details to this question:
I had purchased a 1998 Volvo S70 through a private sale, upon purchasing the vehicle I was told there was no issues other than possibly a bad battery. After I started driving the car I noticed some major water leaks, oil leaks, a speedometer that doesn't work, and now a blown head gasket. The car will cost me roughly $2000-$2500 to fix. Now I signed a written contact to make monthly payments on the car, but feel as if she knew something was wrong with it, considering she sold the car a month after she had bought it. Never used it herself. I am unable to afford to get it fixed, but i need to get a new vehicle. Anybody able to give me some advice? Thanks!

UNless there was a warranty - you are likely stuck if its an as is sale. That stated there is no rational reason to expect a 1998 vehicle is in any shape other than needing lots of repairs absent paying a premium for the vehicle and having documentation of the various repairs or maintenance as its over 20 years old. At 2k for repairs thats likely you cheapest option as lawsuits and lawyer fees will likely cost far more.
