I signed a contract with a coding bootcamp, and there is a 4 week online portion of the bootcamp before the 24 weeks on campus. I failed the online portion once, and they emailed me that if I failed again I would lose my deposit. However, the contract clearly says that the payment doesn't start until I am on campus. Unfortunately, I failed again, and want to withdraw, but they are trying to keep $3,000 of my $4,000 deposit. Since the contract says that my refund is based on my last date on campus, do I have a case to get at least some more of my deposit back? My deposit should have only been $3,000 but they forgot to add my scholarship, so now they have $4,000 of mine and are only willing to give me $1,000 back. I know it's a complicated situation but I was basically wondering if their email to me negates the contract even though I had assumed that I wouldn't lose three or four thousand dollars since I never made it on campus! Thanks!
