ok my grandfather bought land from a guy named lee and when he past away lee come up saying that he had a verbal agreement with him that in passing of my grandfather that lee would get the land back he also claims my grandfather still owes him money .... thing is there if no proof of it so question is the land our land there was no will .
There is a doctrine called "Statute of Frauds" that comes from England and is older than our country and it holds that a contract involving real property, which is what your land would be, must be in writing to be valid. There are valid verbal contracts but none related to property.
