QUESTION

Is there anything that can be done about this situation?

Asked on Aug 02nd, 2013 on Contracts - Florida
More details to this question:
When I lived in NC I leased a 2011 Ford Escape. Included in the lease payment was a charge for Personal Property tax that is collected in NC, approximately 350.00 a year. I then moved to FL where I transferred the tags and title to FL, because FL does not have a PPT, NC no longer collected that amount. Although Form Motor Credit Company is still deducting the PPT amount approx. 30.00 per month from my lease payment and refuses to adjust my lease payment. We have proof that Ford Motor has paid the PPT bill in the past and will no longer need to pay it. We would like our lease payment adjusted to the new amount based on the fact that Ford will no longer be paying the PPT. Ford has refused to do anything and states that they have the right to keep the extra amount they collect from us every month.

This is interesting as you should get credit for the monies paid since they cannot be payin the amounts to NC. YOu may need to demand an accounting to determine where the monies are going and hopefully not just "profit pocket"
