Recourse against a city attorney

More details to this question:
A city attorney agreed to a stipulation on record then, at a later date, refused to honor the agreement, stating that it was a mistake on his part. What recourse do I have?

If you had an agreement (in most jurisdictions a stipulation on the record is an enforceable agreement), you can enforce it.  The unilateral mistake by one party to a contract does not invalidate the contract.
