We own a medical services organization that requires a medical director. We just changed medical directors partly due to the doctor taking money from us and not having good business sense, and partly because another surgeon who used to work with him told us some things that worried us tremendously. We ended up actually bringing that surgeon on as our medical director because she was so excited about it and asked for the position. There are a lot more details there but I can only type so much. The surgeons husband (who is also a surgeon) then invested in our business. He now owns 10% of the business. We have confidentiality agreements signed and last night she sent a malicious email and put two other people on it, one being our potential new partner and friend of another investor we have been talking to. She also resigned as medical director as of 10/1(???) in the email. We have reason to believe she is in a manic state and abusing drugs. Our business will now fail because of her action
Your situation sounds like a fairly complex dispute and I do not think it would be wise to try and resolve it on your own. I would recommend that you at least consult with an attorney who can give you a good idea about what rights you have and what is likely to happen if you decide to file a lawsuit vs. seek settlement. In many cases it may make sense to try and resolve the dispute outside of litigation, but you are likely to get a better result if you are represented by counsel in that process as well.
Thanks,Jon
