More details to this question:
A sales representative came to my house and gave a pretty good pitch, so I fell for it and started signing loan applications and a solar system contract. However, I did make sure I asked multiple times if at any point I could cancel the contract if i wanted to. He told me multiple times yes, as long as is before they put any panels on your roof you can cancel the contract with nothing but a credit inquiry on your credit history. At no point he mentioned the 3 day cancel policy. So since it fell like I had some time on my hands I never read the contract carefully on it's entirety until 5 business days later. At this point I want to know if in fact the contract can still be cancelled or was I lied to?

Both, it likely cannot be cancelled without penalty and you lied to yourself in addition to the sales man lying to you. You need to READ the contracts before you sign them and get any representations in writing.
