QUESTION

Verbal Agreement

Asked on May 14th, 2013 on Contracts - Texas
More details to this question:
My ex-best friend and I agreed to get a 2bedroom apt. I got the apt in my name b/c she had a recent eviction on her credit. The agreement was we were to split everything 50/50 regarding the apt. While I was at work she decided to move her things out of the apt and left me paying the rent and light bill. I have text messages from her agreeing to pay half of the rent and light bill. Do I have a case?

You have a written agreement for her to pay due to her text messages. The question remains is it worth it to sue?  Probably not.  You will miss time at work and have to pay filing fees and sheriff fees for service of process.
