QUESTION

What should I do about a canceled contract/promise?

Asked on Oct 12th, 2014 on Contracts - Illinois
More details to this question:
We booked with a company for a DJ service. They ended up canceling our contract and said they would refund us the money we paid. Since then they have ignored emails & calls. We reported them to the BBB with no answer from them. We aren't sure what to do next.

You can sue for the return of the money, but from what you've written it sounds like the "company" is out of business.  If the "company" with which you contracted was a corporation, llc, or other independent legal entity, as opposed to a sole proprietorship or general partnership, you may be out of luck.
