QUESTION

When modifying a contract before either party has signed it, does the date get changed?

More details to this question:
If I send a contract to a client on, say 8/1/16, and they want to modify it before either party has signed, do I change the date to the current day, say 8/3/16? Or, do I leave the original date, cross it out, and add the current date? Or, leave the original date?

The date should be changed.   Whether you cross it out or create a new document with the new date makes no difference.
