Are there any statutes in Florida that prohibit jaywalking?

I know it is dangerous, but is it possible to get a ticket for it?

An officer can give you a civil citation for jaywalking (not walking in the crosswalk where one is available, and not crossing while walking at a 90 degree angle from the direction of the sidewalk where there isn't a crosswalk).

Sounds to me like your spouse may be eligible for something called "cancellation of removal" for non-lawful permanent residents. I base this suggestion on your husband's long duration of residence in the US and the hardship I am sure you will suffer if your spouse is deported. My suggestion is that you employ the services of a competent and licensed attorney. There is a lot that can go wrong if the case is not handled correctly.
