Can a cop pull you over for inactivity on your insurance?

More details to this question:
A cop followed me for about 4 miles and then pulled me over he said my insurance was showing inactivity in his system, is this legal for him to do?

I don't even know what inactivity means. Either you had valid insurance or not. If you had it, show the DA and they will dismiss it. If you didn't have it, then get it within 10 days of the ticket, show the DA and they will dismiss it. If they don't dismiss then hire an attorney.
