If I have a trial date set and I have a court appointed attorney that I am dissatisfied with can I still go to court and state to the judge that I wish to retain an attorney and get the date pushed back?
Absolutely. As long as you are just not wasting time. You don't have to be represented by an attorney you don't like. But if it is court appointed you pretty much get what you pay for, so the options aren't great
Depends on the court. Talk to the lawyer you wish to retain who should know the court's practices. Even if the date cannot be pushed back, the lawyer can still substitute in to represent you.
