Can the school search my daughters car without my consent?

My daughter was suspected to have marijuana on her at school. They didn’t find any on her person, but they did search her car found some marijuana, .5 grams. and drug paraphernalia. They searched her car before calling us. She is 17. Did they need to notify me before they searched her car?

There are many things about a vehicle search that a lawyer will review to be sure it was a legal search. That said, your consent was not needed to search her car on school property.
