QUESTION

Can we move or are we stuck until he’s 18?

Asked on Dec 02nd, 2012 on Criminal Law - Texas
More details to this question:
I was wondering if my family could move out of the area and to another area in Texas. My son I believe is on probation since he was 11. We haven’t had to go see the officer in charge of the case but twice. She said this could be pending until he’s 18. I’m not sure what’s going on. We never saw a judge. There’s no real proof just our word against their word. We want to move on and we would like to leave the area to a better area with better job opportunity. He is autistic and he was released to me instead of staying in the detention center. He is 14 now.

If he is on probation then you can ask to have it transferred. Usually probation is very strict and you would know. Contact that officer or contact a lawyer in your area to go to that Court and ask.
