QUESTION

Does it make a difference if my Miranda rights were never read to me?

Asked on Nov 27th, 2013 on Criminal Law - Texas
More details to this question:
I shoplifted and was caught. The amount was around $55. I got arrested and got out on bail within a few hours. I’m 23 and this is my first offense. I've never even gotten a ticket just for an expired inspection sticker so I have a clean record. I just made a bad decision. I live in Texas and my court date is 2 months from now.

Any statements you made after custodial arrest cannot used against you. You need a good lawyer to represent you, because a conviction for theft will haunt you and cost you dearly.
