More details to this question:
Arrested for making a false report in Aug 2011. Collected ins money for 5000. Completed my 5 months of Deferred adjudication probation. Now the Ins contacted my atty and at 1st they wanted 3700. back and was going to make a subrogation back back. Now they want the full amount back and to sign a promissory note in two places stating it was fraud. Can you explain to what the promissory notes are for?

promissory note is a contract to pay.. if you dont pay, they can sue you for the money... without it, they have no easy remedy to make you pay... At this time all they can do is sue you for the amount and get a judgement, but that is it.....really cant make you pay unless you have some assets they can go after... Your case has been dismissed so the criminal case is over.. and you should be looking at getting the case sealed.....
