A promissory note is a promise to pay that sets out the total amount that you agree is owing and the dates by which you will pay. The reason for the notes is probably that this eliminates confusion over how much you owe. If you do not pay it will be easier to get a judgment against you. Talk to your attorney about the situation. It is not proper for me to give you legal advice if you are represented.
