You may be dealing with a violation of both the Federal Fair Debt Collections Act (15 USC 1692) and/or the Florida Consumer Collections Practices Act (section 559.72, Florida Statutes).  A debt collector cannot threaten criminal action in collecting a debt.  Contact a consumer lawyer to help you with this case.
