How can I get my driver's license if I had a DUI?

More details to this question:
I had a CA driver's license and in 2004 I got a DUI in Virginia (1st offense). I was in jail for close to 2 months after which I was released. I was homeless and could not afford the fines and classes ordered to me by the judge. I now reside in Texas and have a decent job and would like to try and get my license again, what do I need to do preferably without having to get a hold of Virginia, also I do not have none of my court papers because like I said I was homeless.

Unfortunately, you are going to have to pay your fines to get your TXDL back.

Contact the Department of Public Transportation to get their requirements. You will be required to contact Virginia to clear your record with them.
