QUESTION

How do I get to know if there is an active warrant?

Asked on Dec 05th, 2012 on Criminal Law - Florida
More details to this question:
I am on probation. My probation officer filed and asked for a warrant on November 29,2012 but there is no close date. All it says is petition and warrant as to VOP. I called the sheriffโ€™s office and they said there is no active warrant. Has the judge looked it over or have not signed off on it? Please respond ASAP. Thanks.

You go into the court since the judge would have to sign the warrant. The court should know.

Go to the court. Ask to put the case on calender. See the judge before the warrant issues. Your chances are better.

There may be a warrant but it has not been entered into the sheriffs system yet. Hire a lawyer who can find out about a warrant and resolve the issue with you.

Get an attorney. There probably is an active warrant which had just not hit the system when you talked to the sheriff's office.
