I have a total of 4 tickets currently. They are in counties Bastrop (for speeding), Temple (speeding and expired registration), Harris (expired registration), and Travis (for speeding, expired MVI (Motor Vehicle Inspection (?). These are all in order of occurrence dating from last year to last month. A warrant has been issued. These are a total of fees of about $800. I went through a divorce and a long period of unemployment last year, with frequent trips back and forth to Galveston. Registration and Inspection is currently up to date. I was told I had the option of writing to the judge for an alternative penalty or to reduce fees. Is this my best option? If so, what sort of alternatives should I suggest and/or how should I negotiate fees? Thank you for your suggestion and/ or business.
Unfortunately, the State doesn't work like that. They are all in different counties, so what one offers the others don't really care. You are gonna have to "untangle the web" and start off with the earliest case. I'd suggest hiring one attorney to handle it, but know it will cost a few thousand dollard. Or you can try a traffic ticket attorney in each county. It's gonna be a pain, but you have to do it to keep your license valid.
