How long does a Class C misdemeanor stay on my record?

More details to this question:
I received a Class C Misdemeanor in Texas in 1987. How long does that stay on my record? Will this preclude me from getting a job as a teacher?

Convictions stay forever. But a class C is the lowest and will probably have no effect for employment purposes.

Forever. It is not likely it will preclude you from being a teacher unless it was an assault; then you might have an issue.
