Court filing fees vary slightly from county to county, but are generally right around $320. However, depending on the outcome of your criminal cases, you may not have to pay the filing fee. If you are required to pay the filing fee but cannot afford it, you can apply for a waiver of the filing fee. This is known as proceeding in forma pauperis. In addition to the filing fees, you may also have an out-of-pocket cost for service of the expungement petition on the several law enforcement agencies involved. If the court grants your request to proceed in forma pauperis, you will not have to pay for service of the petition.
