QUESTION

If someone steals two years ago, can he be arrested now?

Asked on Dec 07th, 2012 on Criminal Law - Georgia
More details to this question:
Someone stole out of my car and itโ€™s been two years. I know who did it. I haven't said anything to the police or made any reports. He agreed to pay for what was stolen and I agreed to it. No time was given to pay back by but it took some time in my case.

Yes he could still be prosecuted but whether the police go forward after this amount of time is up to them.

Make the claim now with law enforcement. Theft charges in WA state up to $750 can be filed anytime with a 2 year period from the alleged violation date. If it was for more, then there is a long period of time to file.
