If the police label evidence wrong, say you hit someone with a car and the label the evidence as a truck, does the case get dropped?

That type of error will not result in a dismissal, although your lawyer can use it to impeach the witness in trial.

No. it's not like a speeding ticket. The police can say they made a mistake. That's why you need to hire an attorney to figure out what other mistakes they made.
