Your question requires an attorney consultation. It is not a simple question that can be answered on this type of forum. There are many factors that would need to be considered and evaluated. Since we do not have all the facts, it is impossible to give a completely accurate answers. What is he being charged with? What evidence does the State have against him? Does he have any defenses to the charges? I strongly suggest that you contact an experienced criminal defense attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding your son's case. (S)he would then be in a better position to analyze his case and advise you of his options.

This is not a question that can be answered without knowing more about your son's case. If there is sufficient evidence against him that would result in a conviction, then it may be best to try to arrange a plea deal rather than taking it to trial. If there is not sufficient evidence against him that would result in a conviction, then it may be best to take it to trial.

Whether to seek a jury trial is a difficult decision. It is impossible for any attorney to give you any sound advice based on the limited information that you can provide on this site. Your son's criminal defense attorney is in the best position to advice him of the risk and benefits of a trial.
