Is using a laser jammer considered interfering with a peace officer?

More details to this question:
The passport radar detector has laser diffuser. A cop pulled me over and wrote ticket for attempting to interfere with peace officer. I was told the device was legal. It does not jam radar, diffused laser. I wasn't speeding.

Depends on which State. Best to research you state laws on jammers. Also, contact the jammer company, they should know.
