Have your lawyer do any negotiations for you. not you do it yourself. You may be giving the prosecution proof they may use to convict you. It is not wise to discuss the facts with anyone other than your lawyer. I have seen many instances of people making the states case against them by volunteering information that they think will get the investigator to recommend they not be charged. Remember that there is the possibility of criminal charges coming from both the state and federal governments.
