Hello, so I was at a party with alcohol involved, im 28 and the police showed up and came into the backyard because of a noise complaint. The cops asked me my name and i gave them the wrong name because i was drunk and just messing around, this was on 7-14-2013, on the ticket i thought court was for 8-15-2013, i just received a notice for a warrant, any information i can get would be very helpful. thank you

call the court you were to be at, ask what your options are. if they only involve you turning yourself in to police and going to jail, retain a lawyer to turn yourself in with you.

i am assuming that you were charged with a form of 'obstruction of justice' based upon 'false information' to the officer. this is a disorderly persons offense. i would not want any record given the difficulty in obtaining employment caused by a record. i would utilize an attorney to have the charges dismissed or downgraded. please let me know if we can help. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600 ext 235
