QUESTION

What does rebond revocation mean?

Asked on Mar 30th, 2016 on Criminal Law - Florida
More details to this question:
My boyfriend was charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant female on July 2015 and was put in a domestic violence program with the charge dropped as a misdemeanor. There is a no contact order in place. Last week, he violated the no contact order and there was a domestic. He was arrested again. There was a hearing to revoke his bond on the first case today and the new charge was bond for $1500. The police department contacted the courts and told them the arrest was not good enough (second case violation). Now there is a hearing tomorrow. Will he have a bond? I do not want him to have a bond.

In over 30 years I have never heard of rebond revocation. I suppose it means that the judge must decide whether he should be released. The violation is a criminal offense for which he could spend up to a year in jail.
