One cannot get probation for a case that is "dropped" (dismissed). If the case is a Class A misdemeanor (first time, no serious bodily injury, no deadly weapon, no blocking breathing), then the maximum that can be given in jail upon revocation is 1 year. He needs to hire a lawyer.

The case is over, they should be allowed to go back and get him. If they are trying to, then hire a good attorney to get that thrown out.
