Will a burglary case still continue if the accuser has passed away?

More details to this question:
A friend of mine has been accused of a burglary. Since then the accuser has passed away. Can he still be charged?

Technically it is the state and not the victim who presses charges. However,if the victim is dead, the prosecutor could have a difficult time proving their case.

Yes. Crimes are crimes against society, not just the victim, so the prosecutor could decide to pursue the prosecution even though the accuser has died.

Possibly. Depends on what the deceased gave to the police prior to his passing.

Yes, depending upon the available evidence. It will simply be harder to convict them.
