Will a shoplifting ticket remain on my record?

I paid for a shoplifting ticket I got from the police. Will this remain in my record ? How can I remove it?

If you plead guilty then it will stay on your record forever. Only way to get it off is a pardon by the Governor.

Because you paid the ticket, it is a final conviction and will remain on your record. Had you obtained a deferred, then you could have gotten it expunged. (This is why when one is charged with a crime, one should seek the advice of counsel before acting in a way that could ruin one's future.)
