QUESTION

Will being detained show up on your record?

Asked on Sep 24th, 2020 on Juvenile Law - New Jersey
More details to this question:
When I was 17, a friend and I were detained by loss prevention. The store took down our names (+ addresses) and made us return all the stuff. They turned us over to the police and I was taken to the station but my friend was let go since his mom came to get him. I never signed anything at the police station nor was I given any paperwork. I don't think they took down additional information but my father came to get me soon. I was never called into court so I am assuming nothing will show up on my record since they never took any personal information. I would like to apply for a job soon will this affect the process?
