More details to this question:
I was arrested for shoplifting. I stole $81.00 worth of merchandise. This is my first being arrested. I have no record or prior convictions. I have to appear in court for this. Should I have a lawyer present? I'm 21. Fine, Probation or jail time? Which one am I most likely to get? anything other information would be great. Thank you.

Often times there are first time offender programs which allow you to avoid a convictiion and keep your record clean. I would consult with a local criminal defense attorney to make sure you get this result.
